The Churchill Mk III Tank was a product of the British Army's approach to dividing the role of tanks in to 3 categories:

  • the Light Tank, intended mainly for a recon role,
  • the Cruiser, intended to be a light and fast to exploit gaps in the enemy's defence, and
  • the Infantry tank, intended to support the infantry during attacks.

The Churchill Mk III fell very much into the latter category - with its heavy armour, slow speed and excellent slope climbing abilities.

Despite several initial mechanical problems as a result of its hasty development and limited testing, the Churchill Mk III along with the other Marks went on to be a success for the British Army and in total over 5.600 tanks across all the variants were produced.

Armortek's 1:6 scale Churchill Mk III tank is based off measurements of the Churchill Mk III and Mk IV tanks at the Tank Museum in Bovington as well as from research from their archives.

The Armortek Churchill Mk III tank  is sold as a kit for assembly and can be turned into an Radio Controlled (RC) Tank through the addition of options.

Option packs bring the model to life through adding Remote Control (RC) Capabilities:

The Motion Option pack adds independent drive to each track through 2 high powered, hardened brushless motors as well as continuous 360 degree turret rotation and main gun elevation.
The Sound Option adds real life sounds to the model - including engine starting, driving, shutdown, main gun firing and machine gun firing.
The Recoil Option pack adds main gun recoil and LED flash when the gun firing sound is triggered from the Sound Option pack.
The Smoke Option pack adds exhaust smoke to the tank. When idling the volume of smoke reduces and then increases again as the tank drives off.
The Machine Gun pack animates the machine gun so that it can move from side to side via the RC transmitter. There is also an LED that flashes in time to the sound of the gun firing.

Option packs are sold separately.
